Happy New Years..17 days later!! :)

Wow..so Halloween has passed, Thanksgiving has passed, Christmas has passed & New Year's is gone as well..sorry but I was busy with school, my daughter and just life itself has me wrapped up. But here I am again..at the start of a new semester. My first day of Spring 2011 classes begins tomorrow and I am hoping for a successful semester like my last one. My life has been great so far and I am loving every single second of it..I couldn't ask for anything better. A quick update, Halloween was spent at my sisters, she hosted a party and my baby dressed up as a witch..pics later. Thanksgiving was at my sister's again lol..my parents, brothers and sisters got together and we had a great time. Christmas at my sister's again with the family and had a nice time dancing and spending time with eachother. New Year's was just my parents, my brother, my daughter and I since my other 3 siblings had plans with their families, but it was nice anyway we went to a bar and brought in the New Year. I had a full month of winter vacation and it consisted of lots of shopping and spending time with my daughter. I promised to put up pics of my purchases and do a quick review on them but haven't had a chance to do any of that lately, although i do have the pics just haven't posted them yet. Hopefully I get a chance during the week to catch up on lots of blogging..because I do have lots to catch up on. Peace!! :)

A little break from my busy life...

Ok so a whole month and a half has passed since I've posted a blog on here...life has been super super busy for me!! School has kept me on my toes along with my 2 (almost 3) year old. Its stressful and tiring but AWE-SOME!! I love how motivated I have been and how dedicated I have been with my school work. I have been so stressed lately & I have my poor face to show for it. It has been completely broken out with pimples and it is so embarassing. I hate those little things. The products I always use haven't been able to take them away so I've been trying out so many different products that I need to post on here for review. They are almost gone but not completely. So much has been going on besides school. In September we had company, my dad's brother from the valley came to visit us along with his family, and it was a nice 2 day visit. I was able to see my grandmother as well. The rest of September was just hanging out at the park, going to Ft. Boggy on the last few hot days and going to a bar with my friends to just get away from the books for a bit. Nothing too interesting in September. Every weekend in October we have been doing something. Besides exams, we've been doing so much shopping for fall like looking for costumes, buying little decorations for the house, buying winter clothes for Sofia & whatever else we've been able to find. This past weekend we went to a birthday party at the 7 acre wood in Conroe and it was so fun. I had always heard of that place but never been and my baby had a great time. Its perfect for Fall Fun. I took my baby to a small carnival that came to our town and she had a blast. I love being able to take her to all the fun activities right now because she is older and knows a little bit more about whats going on around her. She is so excited about Halloween and she knows that its the time where she gets to dress up and go around asking for candy. I bought her costume while I was in Conroe the other day, she is going to be a witch & is going to look so cute!! Hopefully I can get on here more often and keep updating my life as it goes. I will post some pics of new products i've been trying & just little things I have that I would like to share. Peace!! = )

Last day at work...

Well today was my last day at work. After 2 years and 6 months I quit my job. It was sad leaving my co-workers who I was so close to already but I know they'll keep in touch with me. I enjoyed my job, I liked being nosy and reading mail lol..no but really I like being able to investigate and find out whats going on in important situations that include children, drugs, money and people who can get hurt if something isn't done. Thats the reason I quit..so I can go to school for Criminal Justice and someday be able to have a real job that requires that and not only do it for fun in a clerical position. I'm going to miss it though and I'm going to miss seeing the people I was around everyday...yes even the ones that didnt like me or the ones who hate to see me trying to better myself. O well they could do it to if they really wanted to, age should never be an excuse. Anyway..today was my first day of school too. I've had my nose in my books since 2 pm and its 7:30 so I spent at least 4 hours on school today..not bad for the first day lol. Actually I spent 1 hour sending introductions and answering to others and 1 hour eating and spending time with my family and the other 3 reading for 1 class and taking notes...and I didnt mention that througout these 5 hours I have my 2 year old jumping all over me and running in and out of the room. I hope I do good lol!! ♥

Eyeshadows....

Ok I love all eyeshadows no matter what color..theres always something fun to do with them. I have so many but of course these are some of my favorites....

Ok so these are my browns all by MAC...the first is a paint pot in Painterly that I use before any eyeshadow to help it stay on longer without creasing and to help accentuate the colors. The second is an eyeshadow called Brule its a creamy matte color..great for highlighting. Next one is called Shroom..creamy color and kind of shimmery. Then theres Retro-Speck..its gold and glittery. Next is Satin Taupe..a brownish-grayish color its frosty looking. Last is Mulch a darker brown in a shimmery finish.

ok here are my purples...first is Parfait Amour..its frosty and very bright. Second is Nocturnelle..this is a darker purple but very nice and with a frosty finish.

My greens and blues...the first is my Humid shadow its a dark green with a frosty finish. Second is Steamy also a frost..its a mixture of blue or aqua and green if mixed with the right color it'll look green or blue. Last is Deep Truth..its a very dark blue with frost..a very bold color..so nice!!

Ok before the browns took over these were my only favorite colors...the first is Electra, a very light gray with frost. Second is a darker gray almost black and its a satin almost matte color..its called Print. Last is Black Tied..its a black black as you can see lol..with sprinkles of glitter..a very strong color!!

This is my Urban Decay-Sustainable Palette..it came with a small bottle of there Eyeshadow Primer Potion and a small brush that I use for smudging lol. The primer potion is just as great as my MAC painterly paint pot..its for the same thing..to keep eyeshadows bright and in place. This palette has a mix of colors. Top row starting at left is a bronzy brown called YDK, next is an aqua color called Flipside, next one is a glittery pink called Grifter, then theres VZI a glittery white, then theres twice baked a dark brown, bottom row is Midnight Cowboy Rides Again..its a glittery gold, next is a purple called Flash, next is glittery black called Oil Slick like my eyeliner lol, then theres Kiddie Pool a glittery blue and last is Half Baked..a shimmery gold color one of the best ones in the palette.

My daily makeup routine...

Ok so now I'm gonna share my daily makeup routine..its usually what I do every day and if I do happen to change it up once in a while its not by much.

So first and foremost is a primer to keep my foundation straight lol..I love this smashbox photo finish because its oil-free and great on my skin. Then I squirt out a little bit of my MAC studio sculpt foundation (NC37) with spf 15 onto my hand and when i say a squirt I mean something very small because this goes a long way. I've had the same foundation for 6 months and I just ran out the other day. Its a medium coverage because i dont like the look of too much makeup on my face. After my foundation I usually add my concealer which is MAC select cover-up (NC30) and I use it over whatever blemishes I can still spot and of course go under my eyes and my eyelids. The last product I use is my setting powder by MAC also..its the mineralize skinfinish natural (medium dark). Its another oil controlling product and it makes your face look finished...duh! lol...oh and btw my powder is broken into so many pieces because I dropped it on one of so many bad mornings..hey it still works!! LOL...

Next is either one of these blushes..i have more but these 2 are my favorite! The first one is my MAC sunbasque..its a sheertone shimmer blush and kind of peachy and bronzey looking with shimmer of course..perfect for the summer days (that r almost over with). The other is my Too Faced bronzing powder in Pink Leopard..too cute..its a mixture of pink blush, bronzing powder & shimmer. I have some matte blushes too but they seem boring to me so these are my fave's!

Ok I dont have the pic but my eyebrow pencil is by Sonia Kashuk and I use it in Taupe..love it. I like this Voluminous mascara by L'oreal because it really does work and I really dont care to use a better one right now since this one has done a good job..I like it in Black. My eyeliner is the most important thing for me because I hate seeing my eyes without it lol..whether its daytime or night I like to have on my eyeliner and this one stays on ALL DAY without having to re apply a million times...its by Urban Decay, in the color Oil-Slick..its a black. But its creamy, glides on and stays put all day..unless of course you smear it with something and I havent cried when I have this on so I'm not sure if it runs with ur tears haha.

Brushes...dont have many yet since these do the work. The first brush is the MAC #188 brush..I use it to apply my foundation..i like what it does but I feel I could use a bigger brush for my face but got this one because I wasn't very sure at the time but I would definitely do better with a bigger one. It helps give my face a flawless finish and it does help my foundation cover up every spot on my face even in the hardest areas. The second is a max coverage concealer brush by Bare Escentuals..I use my MAC concealer with this. Third is my angled blush brush by Sephora #892..its good for contouring. Fourth is my MAC #217 brush that I use for all my eyeshadows..with the help of my brush cleaner by MAC of course..i use one side for applying to my lids the top for applying to the crease and the other side to apply a highlighting color to my brow bone and if the colors are too strong I clean them off with the cleaner which only takes about a minute or two to dry up.

Ok these are some of my favorite lip glosses right now..there a mix of maybelline, Avon, MAC & NYX. The colors are pinks, peachy and nudes..those are my favorite colors right now and I wear them depending on what color of eye shadow I'm wearing that day. = )

Some of my favorite face products...

Ok so these are some of MY favorite face products..and everything I'm about to say about them is from MY personal experience so if u love them or hate them then i'm sure you have a good reason....

ok so the first one is my makeup remover by Clinique its called wash-away gel cleanser and its for oily skins like mine...its really great with taking off all my makeup (including mascara & eyeliner) and its refreshing makes my face feel really clean.

the second one is my liquid facial soap also by Clinique..also for oily skins..its a good cleanser for me.

ok I dont have the pic on here but I also have the clarifying lotion by Clinique and I have #2 but should be using the one for oily skin...not my fault lol. I also have the dramatically different moisturizer but dont use it bc like my #2 its for combination skin and makes my face even more oily.

the third product is my Murad clarifying cleanser for Acne...this product is one of the best if you have really bad skin but i would recommend using there whole line to get even better results. I use it for my occasional break outs it helps get rid of them quick but its really good..just a little bit drying but nothing a good moisturizer cant fix.

my fourth is my BareMinerals skin rev-er upper..its a good moisturizer with salycilic acid (for breakouts) that i use before my actual moisturizer with SPF..its very light together so it doesnt make my face oily throughout the day and its treating my face while priming my foundation.

the fifth...its my Aveeno Positively Radiant daily moisturizer with an SPF 15..its very important to keep ur skin protected at all times from the suns harmful rays lol..I use this with either my rev-er upper or my smashbox..but not both together, it all depends how my skin is doing that day.

the sixth product is my Smashbox photo finish foundation primer...its an oil free lotion that absorbs the oils in ur skin to make ur foundation look good all day. Its very light and I use it over my moisturizer when my skin is break-out free. It works wonders!! My skin never gets oily throughout the day unless of course I'm sweating..but for that I use my Sonia Kashuk blotting sheets. I got the travel size at Sephora just to try it but i'm definitely going to invest in a bigger bottle.

Ok so last but not least is my vitamins...believe it or not they make a big difference. They have helped so much in my nail growth and hair growth and i have always had skin problems..well my face..but some of that is my fault for not following directions lol..but ummm vitamins are important! = )

So now that I've shared my favorite face products let me tell you how I use them...at night before bed if I have makeup on I of course wash my makeup off and i like to go over it twice with the makeup remover so I can get all the makeup out...then I go over my face once with the soap..pat dry my face after rinsing then I'll apply some clarifying lotion with a cotton then I apply moisturizer all over my face. In the morning..I'll wash my face with the soap, go over my face with clarifying lotion and moisturize before applying makeup. Simple. I know some of you are thinking..duh!! but ummm alot of girls/women dont do that..they'd rather leave there makeup on and wake up to a nasty sticky bacteria infested face in the morning..and then wonder why they have a big pimple lol..sooooo wash ur faces every night whether u have makeup on or not!!

The many uses of this blog...

Ok so this blog...even if hardly anyone is following it..I plan to use for everything, like a journal, like a shoulder to cry on lol (im serious!), like a reminder of  anything I'm doing, feeling, thinking...umm I'll use it to share my beauty products that i'm liking or disliking at the moment, I'll be posting pics of things I'm buying for myself, I'll prob b posting lots of pics of myself and different looks lol...anyway u get the picture and I'm in no way doing this to brag about anything to put anyone down, to bore u with my life or things of that nature..i'm simply doing this because I'm prob not gonna have anyone to talk to for a while so this website will be my bestfriend and I just want to go back and look at what i was doing at a certain time and just motivate myself or just to give whoever looks at this blog my point of view on certain things...

Starting school...

Well after 3 years of being M.I.A from the school world...I'm finally going back!! I cant believe how much time I wasted...on nothing really the only good thing that happened to me in those 3 years was my baby girl. I've always been aware of the importance of school but theres always been something holding me back from doing what I want to do and I've stopped it..I told myself that I wasnt gonna let anyone or anything keep me away from school this time. So..I kinda have a plan of what i'm gonna do and how i'm gonna do it.
   1. I'm quitting my job--tomorrow the 30th is my last day--I realize how hard its going to be not having a job because I have a really big responsibility which is my daughter but I have some of the best parents in the whole world, they offered to help out in every way they can and until now they have. My baby girl is set anyway, she has everything she needs...even some brand new winter clothes lol but whatever she'll be needing while we go she'll be taken care of. I dont have any big bills to worry about each month so I'm good with that. I hate leaving my job because I've had it for 2.5 years and I've grown so close to my coworkers but can you imagine if we stayed at every job because of our coworkers..we'd never get anywhere. I'll just have to keep in touch with them. = )
    2. Put school first--yes I love going out, I love partying and having a good time...but it has to stop...for now! I know there are going to be times where I desperately need to get out of the books but I am going to be strong and just have to say no because the more I put this off the longer its going to take for me to finish and I really dont want to waste another 3 years because I couldnt say no to parties. Because I know the first time I say "ok I'll go out just this time", its going to ruin it for me because I'm going to want to say that all the time. So I need to keep my head straight...
    3. Study hard--I get distracted very easilly..especially when I have a very hyper 2 year old running around everywhere screaming and laughing..but besides her I have so many other things around me that I can easily just shut my books and start on those other things...like my laptop and being able to get on facebook or youtube lol...I'm just going to have to turn it off and put it away. I dont need any distractions..not while I'm studying anyway. I'll make time for the world..just not while I'm studying. I plan to give each of my classes at least 3 hrs a day and as I go i'll determine whether more or less is needed.
    4. Give it my all--Now when I really want something I go for it without giving up. I want a better future,  not only for myself but for my daughter. I want her to be able to have, I want her to follow her dreams one day too and me be able to fulfill half those dreams for her. She is my motivation for going back to school and for wanting something good for us. I want this, I want the satisfaction of knowing that I was able to finish something I worked so hard for...thats where my dedication comes in.

Well tomorrow the 30th of August is the big day...wish me luck!!

Vanessa's Quinceanera 8-14-10

Been M.I.A for a few months...but i'm back!

Wow!! I havent been on my blogspot in months!!! I knew something was missing from my everyday life lol. O where to start..so much has happened since October 2009. I really dont have time to fill in 9 or 10 months worth of things so i'll just fill in as I go. Well my niece Vanessa's 15 is only 12 days away and I am just about ready to party. Its gonna be soo fun!! My sister is doing such a great job planning and decorating. Its hard to believe that little girl that I used to carry around is already 15 years old...time flies!! Well...my baby Sofia is good & healthy. She's 2.5 yrs old...turning 3 in December. She is talking so much more and she has been potty trained for a few months now...she learned SOOO fast! = ) Ummm...i just had a birthday a few days ago. Yes...again!! I'm 24 now lol. I'm so thankful God let me see another year with my beautiful family. Well its late, i just wanted to check in and hopefully i'll b back 2mro to fill in on some more. My life is going really good right now. = )

Tito & Jacklyn

Well here goes another blog since I'm in the mood to talk about love. : )
October 10,2009 seemed so far away from February 2008, the month my brother proposed to his (then) girlfriend Jacklyn in Venice, Italy. It is now October 14,2009...4 days after the wedding. It came and went soooo fast. But it was wonderful, beautiful, fun and just everything lol. She was a beautiful bride and he looked very handsome too. They are both beautiful people, inside and out. But there inside beauty is one of a kind, they have great personalities and love everyone around them. My brother has always been a great man but he has become a stronger and better person since he met Jacklyn. She's a great person, I've only known her for almost 2 years and I feel as if I've known her forever. She's great to get along with, she always has a great big smile across her face and she will make a stranger feel like she's known him all her life. Most importantly her and my brother love eachother so much, you can see it in there smiles, in there eyes when they look at eachother, there way of talking to eachother. They are great people and I am very happy for the both of them and really hope that there marriage lasts them a lifetime. I'm glad my brother found a good woman who supports him in all his decisions and guides him towards a good path. The wedding itself was really good. It was a little chilly but the dancing, the beer, wine, and the running around made it ok. I dont think anyone complained. We took plenty of pics. My family looked very nice. My baby looked beautiful in her red dress too. Jacklyn's sister is a great photographer and she was the one taking all the good shots. We finally took family pics and i'm waiting to see those but i'm sure they came out great. We took some great pics at the Funk Booth too. I will post some pics on here when I get a chance. I caught Jacklyn's bouquet! So hopefully it will bring me good luck and I will find a good man someday lol. Honestly, I'm not looking though I am good how I am now...just me and my baby. But....if it happens it happens, right?? Well if i think of anything else i will add to this.

I can smell fall coming in......

I love summer but I've started to like Fall season alot more....I guess its the cool weather, leaves falling, Halloween, Thanksgiving and just all the fall festivals we go to and most of all because my baby gets to enjoy everything this year. Its gonna be so much fun!! Last year was fun but not all that because Sofia was only 9 or 10 months old and she was just learning to walk and well she was still to little to know anything. She probably wont know anything now but I know she'll be more excited about seeing new things. This month we have our Sept. 16 festival in Bryan, then my brother's Stock the Bar party at his house. And, next month we have my brother's wedding, the Mushroom Festival, Halloween, halloween parties and it all starts from there. I love it! Thanksgiving is one of my fave's...because we get our grub on. Then Christmas. Then Sofia's 2nd bday. Then a new year!! WOW. Time is flying. Well I'm gonna try to enjoy this fall and winter with my baby to the fullest. Hey maybe I'll even dress up with Sofia for Halloween this year lol. Well peace out!!

Sofia is 20 months old!!

Only four more months and my baby girl turns 2!! I never believed time would go by this fast. But I can honestly say that I've enjoyed every moment with my daughter since the day she was born, good days and bad she's made my life WONDERFUL! My life is better because of her...without her I was always empty. She's my pride and joy, she's my smile, my heartbeat, my reason for going on. I can talk about her all day and say the greatest things about her but I just couldnt be here all day doing that lol. I love my baby though. I spoil her every chance I get. Of course I try not to spoil her so much and let her know when I dont like something she does or teach her whats wrong and right so hopefully I'm doing good with her and she'll respect me later. She knows when I give her that "look" she needs to stop what she's doing and walk away from getting in trouble lol. She's so sweet too, she loves hugging and giving kisses. She doesnt fight with anyone since she doesnt have anyone to fight with so hopefully she stays that way for a while. She talks so much already, its so cute! I can actually sit there and conversate with her and although some words arent complete I know exactly what she's telling me...its funny. She knows alot though, it amazes me how smart my baby is. I guess talking to her like a normal person has helped alot...meaning I never talked to her in all that baby talk. Dont get me wrong I will play with her and talk to her sweet and do all the baby talking but only when we're playing..when its time to conversate we are square bizz lol. Kids are smart. She's so active. I've seen other kids around her age who dont seem as active as her...and those moms think they have a handful lol, spend a day with Sofia..thats all i gotta say. She's a good girl though, she just never stops..like the energizer bunny. But when 10pm comes around the corner she is knocked out til the next morning....late morning. She had her 18 months check up last week, yea 2 months later lol. She's good though, Dr. said she looked really good and she's still very advanced for her age. She weighed 32.6 lbs and measured 35.75 inches...which is one fourth away from being 3 feet tall....THREE FEET TALL!!! Its unbelievable. She is really tall though. She's now wearing 3T clothes and size 6/7 shoes. She has all the teeth she is supposed to have now lol and her hair is growing so much but its a mess lol. Its growing wild! Thats why in the pics it always looks messy. At least she'll never have to worry about buying volumizing shampoos lol. I dont think she'll be having a 2nd year birthday party, i just have to much stuff going on right now. If I do make something it'll be only family. But God willing that everything is good by then I will make her a lil something...we'll see. i can't wait til fall starts and then winter..i'm so ready!! Peace peeps!

My Birthday Weekend

Well another year has quickly passed and I have turned 1 more year. I am now 23 years old. Still young, I know lol. I try not to think of the year i'm gaining but instead I think of all the wisdom and knowledge I've gained this whole year. I thank God for allowing me another year with my family and most of all with my daughter Sofia who was only 7 months when I turned 22 so we still have alot of moments and memories to share together. So..Friday the 24th my cousin Christy invited me to eat dinner at Rancho Viejo (its actually an every Friday deal) and she seemed kinda fishy but idk what she was up to then all of a sudden all the waiters come rushing to our table singing happy birthday to me and I had to wear the hat lol....

it was pretty embarassing but fun at the same time!! We drank a few beers and called it a night bc we had to get up early to go to San Antonio and finish up our fun. So Saturday morning we all took of to New Braunfels first to go float the Comal River, it was lots of fun too. The water was pretty low but it was fun. We got a cooler and filled it up with cold beer and ice. We chilled and talked amongst ourselves and to other groups. The shute was fun too...thats my favorite part. Tony and the cooler got lost for a while but we finally found them, but we lost the toob the cooler was sitting on. Then a stupid ass whi....a female lol...got on my f*ing nerves and I was about to have to handle her when she quickly came to her senses and figured I would've f*cked her UP!!! lol jk it didnt get that bad. Anyways!!!! After that we went and rented our rooms in San Antonio, got ready and left to the riverwalk. We were there for a while and ate dinner at Michelino's..awesome Italian food (our favorite). By the time we finished dinner we were exhausted from the whole day so we went back to our rooms and slept. Sunday morning we went back to the Alamo, the surrounding shops and museums and then we went to the Market Square and watched a few performances. I bought Sofia a really nice Mexican shirt...idk what they're called but its blue lol. Overall, we had lots of fun. We're thinking of going back really soon. I'll post pics up later.

My Summer Vacation

Well I'm back..unfortunately...I wish I coulda stayed just a bit longer. I was having too much fun with my family. I was only there 6 days..not even a week and I had a great time. I went with my parents and Sofia. Vic couldn't go because of work. We went to my cousins wedding Saturday and it was a really nice wedding, as expected. She looked so beautiful and her personality and smiles made her look even more beautiful. I have a new cousin!! He's a cool guy. Father's Day we chilled at my grandma's and cooked out, it was great to be able to spend the day with my dad and his dad. Monday...we stayed home and all the family came over and we talked and caught up...I learned how to make flour tortillas (finally huh?). Victor had been bugging me forever about it and my aunt let me make them and they turned out really good....seriously!! lol. Well Tuesday we went to a park that I hadnt been to since my 15era and it really changed ALOT. They had all kinds of new and neat stuff. They had a dinosaur land, they had aztec type of games and attractions, they had big water slides..that were perfect for that day bc it was HOTT!! The safari was still there too, they had a waterfall but it was tooo far, ummm they had a view of the 7 mountains it was beautiful, and so many other things that I cant remember off the top of my head. We got so burnt though...it was worth it. Sofia had a great time. Tuesday night we went to a political meeting...all my family is really into politics and my grandma is the MAIN one. She's a well known person in the town because of her love for politics and fighting for whats right and all that. She was mentioned lots of times in the meetings, she's getting replaced by my aunt lol bc she's getting up there in age and she doesnt feel as strong as she used to...but if you saw the strength she has u'd be surprised. She's a very admirable person. Ummm Wednesday...let me think can't really remember I think we went to the plaza and looked around..and bought some aguas frescas. I swear I havent tasted a better agua than the ones in Huala...not even in Vallehermoso and they have the best elotes en vaso there (vallehermoso). Anyway, Thursday we went to the rio and hung out there. I took some pics of us on the puente colgante...its a hanging bridge that goes over the river...the river was pretty dry this time though but it still looked really nice. The rio further out of town was pretty nice though..I forgot my camera that day though. We had a blast cooking out and jumping in the water. Its a nice place. The water is so clean and nice....refreshing too lol. Thursday night we went to another meeting...you get hooked to those after a while lol. I like debates though and interesting things like that so I guess thats why I'm ok with it. Friday morning we were on our way back home. Boooo!!! hopefully next time I can stay longer. It was fun while it lasted though. I'm sure I forgot so many details but I'm so tired right now I can't think straight. Well peace out!! = )

Summer time has come around again...and our trip to Huala is back. I thank my parents because ever since we were little kids they've always showed us the importance of knowing who we are and where we come from...and let me tell you I am damn proud!! We've been going every summer for as long as I can remember and my memory goes way back. Not only do I enjoy all the fun we have but also my family which is more important. Seeing my grandparents when we first arrive is ALWAYS the best part...feeling my grandpa's hug get tighter each year just makes me want to be closer and spend all the time I can with him and my grandma's tears just makes my heart feel crushed. And seeing the rest of my family is always great too. But anyways. Every year theres a big party going on...we're a BIG family we take up a pretty big side of the town....so we always have something going on in the summer or winter when we all gather for vacations. This summer one of my cousin's is getting married. My family always makes nice parties so I'm pretty sure we're gonna have a great time. I'll try to take as many pics as I can but I wont promise anything because when I'm having fun I forget where I leave my camera lol. Now I gotta find something to wear, I have plenty of dresses that I've only wore once so I'll pick one out lol. Huala here we come!!

Mother's Day

Well the day we honor our mothers has passed and I had a really good time spending it with my parents and siblings...well my sister Monica was missing but I know our day would've been even better with her. We spent the day at my moms house and my dad being the great man he is cooked for us (momma, nelly and me), I swear he could be a chef if he wanted to. He'll make up his own dishes and omg they turn out so so good. Anyways, he cooked fajitas which isnt difficult at all but his side dishes were fuera de la cadena like Tito says lol. My mom recieved flowers, plants, a watch from me, cards and lots of love. The gift I couldnt wait for her to get was the car my brother in law bought her. He had promised her a car a while back on one of those drunk nights and she thought he was just talking but she knows Jerry better than that because when he says hes gonna do someting its because hes gonna really do it. And he did. Its a used car but its perfect for work and a gas saver. I loved the look on her face when he handed her the keys and the title....priceless. My princess gave me flowers, a card and a gift card. Needless to say, we had a great day with eachother we laughed, cried, remembered great things and just spent time together like the great family we are.

Being a mother...

This blog isn't about how to be a mom or how to do this or that with your kids; its about my own mother, my momma, my best friend. Her name is Julieta. She's usually quiet and shy but full of lots of wisdom and intelligence once she gets to talking, she is always happy, she's a hard worker and full of love. She's the best mom anyone could ever have and I don't just say that because shes my mom but because its true. Shes a woman who had a rough life as a child and teenager but gathered up strength to be a better woman for herself and her daughters, then her future family...which is where my dad, my 2 brothers and I come in. She came to the U.S as a single mother and then she met my dad and him being the wonderful man he is took her in with her two daughters...my sisters Nelly and Monica. They got married and had Tito, me and then Abraham. She's always been a great person and ALWAYS ALWAYS has a big beautiful smile on her face no matter what. She's taught me a lot, whether it be about myself, my finances, my relationships or my daughter. She taught us about respect, manners, loyalty, appreciation, honesty, trust and just everything. She's always been so comprehensive and laid back about things. She's not one of those old fashioned moms who think things should still be the same way they were back then, she doesn't think the man has the "say so" on things that they know are not right and she doesn't think a woman should put up with a man if he's not willing to act like a man...her own experiences made her that way. I guess that's why her and my dad have always gotten along so well because they are both the same and think the same. My dad is also a really great man, but I'll leave that for another time. She's always respected him and done so much for him because he's done the same for her. As you can already tell, I admire my mom alot and love her to death and for those of you who know me very well you guys know that she is my very best friend and I hardly see anyone think of there mom as highly as I see mine. I thank God for her everyday and I cherish every moment I spend with her. She is a cool mom, she's so modern it cracks me up sometimes...she listens to Spanish rock its her favorite music lol but she loves those oldies too and I can see where I get my romanticism from when I see her listening to that music. She's so passionate about everything, she always gives it her all. She loves Gloria Trevi too, so I bought her and myself tickets and we went to go see her with my sister and her husband back in February and she had a BLAST!! That woman is nuts lol (Gloria Trevi), but that will have to be another story too. Me? I absolutely love being a mother, since the first day Sofia was born its like I already knew what to do and how to act. I had many frustrating days but I managed to get through them all with the patience I inherited from my mother lol. Now 16 months later I'm still faced with challenges once in a while but they're not compared to the love I have for my daughter, its like everything just fades because of her. Its fun!! I have so much fun with my silly girl. I love my mommy and I love being one. Happy Mothers day to all of the mothers and mothers to be!! Even if you're not a mommy, we all know what it is to care for a child and give them all of our love so you're pretty close to knowing what its like. : )
